Note

When citing an article from a reference work that is unsigned, include the title of the article in quotation marks; the title of the book in italics; the editor, edition, volume number (or, if volume number is not available, total number of volumes); the publication information (place: publisher, year); the page numbers. Start with the author when the article is signed. If you are citing an alphabetically-arranged encyclopedia, dictionary or other reference work, use the abbreviation "s.v." (sub verbo, "under the word") in the footnote, not the volume and page number.
