models for citing a website

Footnote

1 Firstname Lastname, “Title of Web Page,” Publishing Organization or Name of Website, accessed Date and Year, URL.

Bibliography

Lastname, Firstname. “Title of Web Page.” Publishing Organization or Title of Website. Accessed Date and Year. URL.

Note

A citation to website content can be mentioned in the text, but must be cited in a footnote (“As of March 11, 2009, the Google Company listed on its website...”). Because such content is subject to change, include an access date or, if available, a date that the site was last modified, as well as the URL. For a BB&N paper, it is best to determine the author of the content, as well as the organization responsible for the site. If the author or party responsible for the site are the same, the individuals, names of several individuals, or name of the corporation will suffice.
